LAW 31 OF MAY, 1979 THAT CONMEMORATES the Bicentennial birth of El libertador and the sesquicentenario of his death (1983), ordered the construction of two parks in memory of Simón Bolivar, that in its article 5 quoted: "the National Government, with the collaboration of the Special District of Bogotá, will start the construction of the Garden of Bolivar in the influence area of La Quinta".

The park Simón Bolivar is now a fact and the Garden of Bolivar in the surroundings of La Quinta hopes to recover the presence of the San Francisco River for the city, from its source at heart of the wide opening to the beginning of now named eje ambiental (a big avenue at the downtown), and to give back to hills the wealth and the vegetable variety preserved inside La Quinta.

From the present action plan of La Quinta de Bolivar made by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Embellishment and Ornament Society, there are made some agreements with organizations like the office of Urban Renovation of the Mayorship, the Aqueduct and Sewage Company, the Institute of Urban Development, the Administrative Department of Environment, in order to carry out the project of the Garden of Bolivar, articulated to the second phase of the integral restoration project started in 1992, that also includes the administrative seat and could keep the collection of Bolivar.

We hoped that the above exhibition inspires seedtime to future of this alive tribute to El Libertador Simón Bolivar, as well as at its moment the anonymous gardeners that served to La Quinta filled the land with seeds of many kind of vegetal species, many of which today have risen on the walls and they give to La Quinta one of its most important and original characteristics. To be an oasis and shelter for new generations.
